Our hero...Donna Tocci
I was just sitting here thinking about how...If it wasn't for Donna, a sort of distant cousin for most of us at the time, we would never have succeeded in organizing the most unforgettable family reunion our family has ever had.
I remember when Monica, my brother Glenn's daughter was doing a project in school about family history. She happened to mention to Donna that she was heading over to her grandparents to ask them questions about the family. Donna ended up taking a ride with her into the big city (Needham) that day. I happened to be in my mothers kitchen (like I do everyday to see what she has a cooking) when they arrived. After all the hugs and kisses, the questions started to fire. I noticed Donna was asking for more information than Monica was. I thought to myself...Is she really interested in all this family stuff, or was she just looking for some good gossip? Well, as it turns out the answer was both. She's a Tocci and what Tocci doesn't like a bit of gossip?
I think from that day on, Donna began to put her plan into action. She became a team leader and recruited other family members to help her find names, email addresses and phone numbers for everyone. She put together a committee to help with the huge task of making this special project the success that it turned out to be. She worked so hard to get pictures and information gathered from each of us, so she could create and publish that famous CD we all now have.
I want to personally thank Donna for all of her incredible effort and hard work that went into planning our first reunion. I know that with her as our leader, the second one will be even better than the first. Let's all be involved in the planning and help her out.
You are our hero! I love you.

Ed - you are too nice. I'm no hero, just organized, I guess.
Yes, this all started with Monica's school project to get her family tree together. We visited your mom and Gloria, who knew more names and dates than anyone! She truly knew every aspect of this large, extended family. If it weren't for her, we wouldn't have been able to get as far as we did.
I appreciate the kudos, but all of this was a team effort! And the next reunion will be the result of a great team effort, too. After all, can any of us resist helping to get the best cooks in the world all together again?
I love you, too, Ed.
Ed- Whenever Donna is mentioned you will always get a response from me. Although Donna as an individual has so many wonderful qualities and skills, for a variety of reasons, she was lacking something important. Something you all naturally take for granted, the love and acceptance of an extended family. You all have given her that priceless sense of belonging. It seems to me it's a good situation for all involved. It certainly makes my heart happy.
Penny - Great to finally hear from you. Hope all is well.
It certainly has been a wonderful situation for everyone involved.
